Putting AdSense on YouTube videos is a great way to generate extra income from your channel.
But first you need to activate monetization on your channel. To do this, go into your creator studio in your browser.
Verify your account
In the left sidebar, you’ll see the channel option–click this. If you’re yet to verify your channel, then verify it.
You’ll need to have your phone ready for a call or a text message.
Input your phone number then go through the process as told to. You’ll recieve a 6-digit code, type this into the verification box.
Once you’ve submitted your code, you’ll get a congratulations message.
Depending on whether or not monetization is available in your country, you’ll be able to enable it in the Status and Features area.If you need to change your channel country then goto the advanced section and change your country to the appropriate option.
Now that you’ve set the right country, let’s enable monetization by clicking the enable button.
After clicking enable, you’ll be shown 4 steps. Start the first step.
Make sure you tick all the boxes, then you’ll be able to accept.
Signup for AdSense
Next, signup for AdSense. Or connect a previous account. It really doesn’t matter, either way, just make sure you’re eligible. For example, it is the correct age to use AdSense.
I’ve already got an AdSense account, so it’s just a case of accepting the association. The URL of the website will already be set.
Set your monetization preferences
After the connection you’ll be able to set your monetization preferences.
Here you can choose was ads you want. If you’re a beginner, I’d advise you just tick all the options; showing all the different ad types will earn you more.
Meet the view requirements
Once that’s done, you need to get 10,000 views!
After you achieve 10k views, you’ll be automatically reviewed. Providing you haven’t cheated the system, you’ll now have adsense on your YouTube videos!
