In today’s post I’m going to show you how to build a profitable YouTube channel using a “top-ten” style. Channels using this method grow very fast and pull a lot of views. The more views you get, the more money you will make. If you’re here for any other reason then you’re in the wrong place.
First let me start out by telling that it’s not too late to join YouTube. I mean, yes, there are millions of channels pushing content, but there’s still billions of views waiting to be fulfilled. So make the content, choose something you’re passionate about and push it to your maximum. You will see returns.
Examples of Popular Top-ten Channels
These channels post compilations of the top ten things! Some channels target certain niches. Choosing a niche is important because you want to retain a fan-base of people who are interested in your videos.
It’s not super important how many things you can in your videos. But top ten seems to be the most popular option!
1# Top Music Mafia
For example, TopMusicMafia regularly posts the top 10 songs of the week.
This top-ten video has gotten 28000 views. That’s not exactly monumental I know, but it was only posted yesterday. That’s over 1000 views per hour on average.
2# Top Tech Videos
Top Tech Videos posts the top tech-products to buy…
Their top 5 best smart-watches video has accrued over 3.5 million views in 11 months.
3# Top Media
Top Media is less targeted. Their description states that they do videos on “pretty much everything”. And it seems to be working pretty well for them, considering they have over 2.2 million subscribers!
How To Choose A Niche for Your YouTube Channel
When you start a YouTube channel you need to choose what area of the YouTube market you are going to target. This video from the YouTube creator academy will explain why!
Now do some research to make sure your niche is popular! Type a few keywords and phrases into Google Trends to see the popularity of what you’re thinking about going for.
How Do You Make A YouTube Channel?
Once you’ve chosen a niche, you need to make a YouTube channel.
TheGoodCooks1 made a great video that will show you how to make a YouTube channel. It’s pretty straight forward. All you need is a Google account!
Source Ideas for Your Content
Unless you’re an expert on your chosen topic, I would advise you Google your idea. There will be tonnes of blog posts on what you’re looking for. Don’t plagiarise the content directly, but draw from them and build your idea!
You will be able to reuse the images in the posts that you find!
Make Your Videos
The easiest way to make your video is to use PowerPoint. This software allows you to export your slide show presentation as a video. You can also add voice to your slides.
HooHooHoblin made a short and sweet tutorial on how to export a Powerpoint presentation as a video.
I would advise you invest in some professional software if you can afford it. Or use some free software if you can find it. Not everyone is technically adept, so PowerPoint should be suffice for your needs.
If you have money, then buy Camtasia. It’s the best YouTube video making, screen-recording, does-everything-out-of-the-box video making software that I’ve come across.
You can also add background music easily to your videos. Here is a good tutorial to do this.
Upload Your Video To YouTube
Derral Eves will show you how to upload a video to YouTube. Properly.
Enable Monetization on Your Channel
This is important. You won’t make money from your views unless you do this. Monetization puts ads on your videos. Like when you’re watching a music video and you see a video of Tai Lopez talking about his Lamborghini!
Technologyguru will show you how to turn on your YouTube account monetization below!
You will have to sign up to Google’s AdSense program. That means you need to follow their AdSense policies (rules on what you can and can’t do)!
Now that you’ve got your channel, your videos, and your ads set up, you need to promote your channel! The easiest way to get more people watching your videos is to share them on social media. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, Reddit–there are loads!
Video influencers will cover how you can promote your videos on social media!
And that’s the end of this article! I hope you’ve found this very useful and I wish you the best of luck in your YouTube endeavours.
